Ranch History and General Information

Walpole Land and Cattle Company was established in 1982 by Ed Walpole with the purchase of land in western Martin County. The ranch is home to a cow/calf operation that is managed by Ed’s son and co-owner, Jay. Walpole takes pride in having good quality Brangus and Angus cross cattle, and a progressive culling program has enabled the ranch to produce quality calves as both feeders and replacement heifers. The ranch utilizes Brangus and Angus bills that are selected on both performance and carcass EPD’s.

The cattle are grazed on highly improved pastures, and a proficient mineral program is implemented all year. During the winter months, the cattle are on a supplemental feeding program. The Walpole’s are devoted to producing quality calves with above average weaning weights.
